Sarah Drake

MSW, LCSW

Sarah is an attachment informed grief and trauma therapist dedicated to fostering an environment in therapy where clients can connect to their inherent strengths and capacity toward growth and healing.

Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her MSW from Baylor University and her undergraduate in social work from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has 13 years of experience working with individuals and families in a variety of contexts.

She began her career working through Central Counties Services providing Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) services to children with disabilities and their families in the home. Working with children and families is where Sarah first became passionate and dedicated to integrating an attachment informed approach to her work. 

In 2012, Sarah transitioned to Baylor Scott & White Health where she began providing support for the psychological and social needs of patients with issues related to trauma, complex and chronic illness, death, grief and loss. Sarah spent her final years at Baylor Scott & White Health embedded within the oncology and hematology departments. She had the honor and privilege of walking alongside patients and their families to serve and address the complex emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational needs associated with cancer treatment. 

Sarah has spent the past 8 years in private practice focusing her attention on grief, loss, and trauma, with specific focus upon traumatic grief and attachment trauma. Sarah is a certified EMDR therapist and believes in an integrative- mind, body, and spirit- approach to therapy. 

Sarah has experience working with individuals and families facing a variety of personal and relational difficulties. She believes in the beauty of diversity and is supportive of all people in their journey toward growth and healing. Above all, she is of the belief that for therapy to be effective, a safe and connected therapeutic relationship is foundational. It is her goal and desire to support every client on their journey towards growth and healing.
