Dr. Joy Clark is a Clinical Neuropsychologist, a subspecialty of psychology that examines how brain injuries and conditions affect behavior, mood, and thinking skills. With a deep-seated passion for understanding the complexities of the human brain, Dr. Clark combines her extensive academic training with a heartfelt commitment to her patients' well-being. Her approach blends evidenced-based techniques with a compassionate, holistic perspective. She believes in seeing each patient as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms, and is dedicated to providing care that respects and honors the unique experiences and needs of every individual. Her commitment to an inclusive, patient-centered practice means that individuals from all walks of life feel understood, respected, and supported.
A native of Texas, Dr. Clark earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, MS. After completing her training, she served as a staff neuropsychologist at the same center while also managing a part-time private practice. In 2017, Dr. Clark embraced the opportunity to return to academia, taking on the role of Assistant Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Millsaps College.
Dr. Clark offers a range of evaluation services including neuropsychological and psychological testing, ADHD and autism evaluations, and forensic services. Services are provided in-person at Willow Counseling Center, as well as online to patients in all PSYPACT states.
